Is this a pell grant / financial aid assistance are on-campus housing?
I am above the minimum age to live in dorms, but I want to live in an apartment on campus. Does my financial aid to cover expenses, if held by universities? If yes, how? I notice on the application for financial assistance, they always ask if yo'ure will live on or off campus at the school you want send your request for financial assistance. Thus, they must be included in the cost of your accommodation on campus in the total amount they spend for you? I really need to know before I decide to live in apartments on campus or dormitories. Financial assistance helps cover the cost of dormitories / housing on campus?
Yes …. As it is the home university, you will help cover the cost. It will cover 100% of the cost of university housing as long as you are eligible for this great help. Your assistance will be based on various factors inlcuding how many credits you have (junior and Seniors get more aid than Freshmen), your resident status (usually you can get a grant to be in the condition that you do get it if you are out of state) and some other things. You may want to go register at www.fastweb.com if you have not already and see if you can get all the awards. These can be useful and you will also pay for the apartment. Hopefully it works for you … I in an apartment last year in my university. I am renting a house this year. I found it costs about the same only difference is that it is not covered by aid. But I have more space and I am off campus, so I do not bother me.
