How can the tide varies over a period of 24 hours between the secondary ports and the ports in the United Kingdom.
I am evening classes in off-shore navigation and can not understand the range of time differences between a secondary port (SECP) and its standard port (StanP). My current understanding is that approximately every twelve hours, the series is repeated. For example: If the HT to the SECP is between 0024 and 0048 StanP, Is this the case when the HT is StanP at midnight (0000) and the HT to the SECP is 0024 and when an HT StanP the 0600 is that growth hormone SECP is 0648. Then continues, when the HT is StanP in 1200 and the HT to the SECP is 1224 and occurs when an HT 1800 to StanP HT SECP to be 1848, and so on. Please can someone confirm if this happens …? … Or if not, can you explain how the differences vary. I hope that it makes sense

In short, if you use the Admiralty tide tables, read the first paragraph carefully "how to calculate the times and heights of high and low water" under the heading "how to use these tables.
